From any location in North Charleston, find the nearest bus stop for the CARTA (Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority) bus service. You can take the 10 or 11 bus route heading towards downtown Charleston. Ensure you have a bus schedule or a mobile app to track the bus timings. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at 'Meeting St @ Broad St'. This should take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. Once you get off, walk east on Broad Street until you reach East Bay Street. Turn right onto East Bay Street, and you will find the Historic Charleston Foundation at 40 E Bay St.

If you prefer to bike, rent a bicycle from a local rental shop in North Charleston. Start by heading south on East Montague Avenue towards Park Circle, then follow the signs or a map to head towards the West Ashley Greenway. Continue on the Greenway until you reach the Ashley River, then take a right onto Lockwood Blvd. Follow Lockwood Blvd until it intersects with Broad Street. Turn left onto Broad Street, and finally turn right onto East Bay Street. The Historic Charleston Foundation will be on your right at 40 E Bay St.
