Getting There

• Car

  From Bear Butte State Park, head south on Bear Butte Road. Continue for about 4 miles until you reach SD-34. Turn left onto SD-34 and drive for approximately 8 miles. As you approach Sturgis, keep an eye out for the Main Street exit. Turn right onto Main Street, and the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame will be located at 999 Main Street on your left. There is parking available nearby.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame via public transportation, you can use the local bus service that connects Bear Butte State Park to Sturgis. Check the local schedule for the bus that runs from Bear Butte Road to Sturgis, which typically takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Sturgis stop, walk north on Main Street for about 5 minutes to reach the museum located at 999 Main Street. Be sure to check the bus fare beforehand, as there may be a small cost associated with the ride.

  For those feeling adventurous, you can bike from Bear Butte State Park to the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame. Start on Bear Butte Road heading south, then take SD-34. The total distance is approximately 12 miles. Ensure that your bike is in good condition and that you wear a helmet for safety. There are bike paths in Sturgis, which will lead you directly to Main Street. Keep in mind that you may need to lock your bike at the museum.
