Car
From Palisades State Park, exit the park and head west on SD-42. After approximately 8 miles, turn left onto US-81 South. Continue on US-81 for about 25 miles until you reach the town of Pipestone. Once in Pipestone, follow the signs to Pipestone National Monument, located at 36 Reservation Ave, Pipestone, MN 56164. The drive takes roughly 35-40 minutes.

While there is no direct public transportation from Palisades State Park to Pipestone National Monument, you can take a bus from Sioux Falls to Pipestone. First, you’ll need to travel to Sioux Falls, which is about 20 miles away. You can arrange for a taxi or rideshare to get there. Once in Sioux Falls, check for the local bus schedule to Pipestone.
