If you're starting in downtown Sioux Falls, begin at the Falls Park Visitor Center located at 900 N Phillips Ave, Sioux Falls, SD 57104. Head south on Phillips Ave for about 0.5 miles until you reach 12th St. Turn left (east) on 12th St and continue for about 0.3 miles. Turn right (south) onto Kiwanis Ave and walk for about 0.4 miles. The Great Plains Zoo will be on your left at 805 S Kiwanis Ave.

From downtown Sioux Falls, you can catch the Sioux Area Metro bus. Board Route 4 at the bus stop near the Falls Park Visitor Center. Stay on the bus for about 15 minutes, then get off at the stop closest to the zoo, which is at 8th St and Kiwanis Ave. Walk south on Kiwanis Ave for about 0.2 miles to arrive at the Great Plains Zoo located at 805 S Kiwanis Ave.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in downtown Sioux Falls.
