If you're driving to 지리산 촛대봉, start by heading to the Jirisan National Park's entrance located in Sancheong-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do. Use GPS coordinates 35.315508, 127.700285 to reach the parking area near the trailhead. Upon arrival, park your car and proceed to the trailhead. The parking area may have a small fee, typically around 3,000 KRW per day. From the parking area, take the marked hiking trail that leads to 촛대봉. The hike is moderately challenging and should take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the summit, depending on your pace.

Public Transportation
To reach 지리산 촛대봉 via public transportation, first take a bus to Sancheong County from major cities like Busan or Jinju. The bus terminal in Sancheong will have local buses heading towards Jirisan National Park. Once you arrive at the Jirisan National Park entrance bus stop, you will need to transfer to a local taxi or walk to the parking area, which is approximately a 10-minute walk. The taxi fare should be around 5,000 KRW. After reaching the parking area, follow the marked trail to the 촛대봉 summit, which takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
