If you are starting from the Alicante city center, make your way towards the Explanada de España, an iconic promenade lined with palm trees. Walk towards the sea, then turn right onto the waterfront, following the path along the coast. Continue walking until you reach the end of the promenade, where you will see the Castillo de Santa Bárbara ahead of you. From there, head up the hill towards the castle entrance. Once you reach the top, you will be able to explore the surrounding area, known as Barri Vell - Santa Creu.

To reach Barri Vell - Santa Creu by bus, locate the nearest bus stop in the city center. Take bus line C-6, which travels towards the airport but has stops in the city. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the stop named 'Castillo de Santa Bárbara'. From the bus stop, walk up the path leading to the castle. Once you reach the castle, explore the Barri Vell - Santa Creu area nearby.

To reach Barri Vell - Santa Creu via tram, head to the nearest tram station in the city center, such as 'Mercado'. Take the TRAM line 1 towards 'Benidorm' and get off at 'Luceros' station. From there, walk towards the main street, Calle Alfonso X el Sabio. Continue straight until you reach the Explanada de España, then follow the guidance for walking as mentioned above to reach the castle and explore Barri Vell - Santa Creu.
