Walking
If you are starting from the central area of Alicante, head towards Plaza del Ayuntamiento. From there, walk along Avenida de la Estación until you reach the intersection with Calle de la Virgen del Socorro. Turn right onto Calle de la Virgen del Socorro, then take another right to Calle de San Fernando. Continue walking straight until you reach the base of the hill where the castle is located. Follow the signs that lead you to the entrance of Castell de Santa Bàrbara, which is situated on the summit of Mount Benacantil. The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes, and you will enjoy beautiful views along the way.

Public Transport
From the central area of Alicante, you can take Bus Line C6 (the circular route). Board the bus at the nearest stop, which could be Plaza de los Luceros or Mercado Central. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop 'Castillo de Santa Bàrbara'. After disembarking, follow the signs leading to the entrance of the castle. The ride takes about 15-20 minutes, and you will enjoy views of the city as you approach the castle.

If you prefer a unique experience, you can take the funicular from the base of Mount Benacantil. Head to the nearest funicular station, which is located near the Explanada de España. You can walk to the station from the central area in about 15 minutes. Once you arrive at the funicular station, purchase a ticket and enjoy the ride up to Castell de Santa Bàrbara. The funicular takes about 5 minutes to reach the castle, and you will have stunning views of the city and coastline as you ascend.
