Car
To reach Puerto de Marabio by car, start from Oviedo, the capital of Asturias. Head northwest on the A-66 highway towards Mieres. After about 20 km, take the exit for the AS-1 towards La Espina. Follow the AS-1 for approximately 30 km, then take the exit for the AS-17 towards Cangas del Narcea. Once in Cangas del Narcea, follow signs for the AS-15 road towards Puerto de Marabio. Continue on the AS-15 for about 20 km until you reach the parking area near the pass. Parking may be free but check for any signs indicating charges.
Public Transportation
If you're opting for public transport, take a bus from Oviedo to Cangas del Narcea. ALSA operates regular services that take approximately 2 hours. Once you arrive in Cangas del Narcea, you can either take a taxi to Puerto de Marabio, which will cost around €20-€30, or check if any local buses run towards the Puerto. It's advisable to confirm local bus schedules as they may vary.
Hiking
For adventurous travelers, you can also reach Puerto de Marabio via hiking. If you are in nearby towns like Cangas del Narcea or Tineo, you can find marked trails leading up to the pass. Ensure you have proper hiking gear, and check trail conditions before setting out. This option is free, but make sure to bring enough food and water for your hike.
