Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Avila Bus Station (Estación de Autobuses), exit the station and head northeast on Calle de la Estación. Turn right onto Calle de la Virgen de la Vega and continue straight until you reach Plaza de Santa Teresa. From the plaza, walk towards the historic center, passing the Convento de Santa Teresa on your left. Continue onto Avenida de Madrid, and you will see the walls of Ávila in front of you. The entrance to the Walls is located at the Puerta del Alcázar.

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Avila Cathedral, exit the cathedral and head northwest on Calle de los Reyes Católicos. Continue straight until you reach Plaza del Mercado Grande. From the plaza, walk towards the walls, which are visible from here. Head towards the nearest entrance at Puerta del Alcázar. You will find informative signs along the way to guide you.

  • Walking

    Starting from the main square (Plaza de la Santa), exit the plaza and go down Calle de la Horta. Continue straight until you reach Puerta de San Vicente. This entrance leads directly to the Walls of Ávila. You will be able to walk along the top of the walls for a fantastic view of the city.

    From the Avila Bus Station, take any bus heading towards the city center. Get off at the stop closest to the historic center, such as Plaza de Santa Teresa. From there, follow the walking instructions mentioned above to reach the Walls of Ávila.
