From the Badajoz bus station, take bus line 1 towards 'El Gurugú'. Get off at the stop 'Ronda del Pilar'. From there, it's a short walk towards the monument. Just follow the signs pointing to Puerta del Pilar, which is located directly on Ronda del Pilar.
