The Iconic Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium: A Must-Visit Landmark in Barcelona

Getting There

• Metro

  If you are starting from the city center, head to the nearest metro station, which could be Plaça Catalunya. From there, take Line 1 (Red Line) towards Hospital de Bellvitge. At the stop called 'Espanya', transfer to Line 3 (Green Line) towards Zona Universitària. Get off at the next stop, 'Paral·lel'. Once you arrive at Paral·lel, exit the station and walk towards Avinguda del Paral·lel. From there, you can catch the funicular up to Montjuïc. Once you reach the top, follow the signs to Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, which is about a 15-minute walk from the funicular station.

• Bus

  From Plaça Catalunya, you can take bus number 150 which goes directly to Parc de Montjuïc. Board the bus from the stop on La Rambla, and after a scenic ride, get off at the stop called 'Estadi Olímpic'. The Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium will be just a short walk from there, following the signs towards the stadium.

• Walking

  If you are near the beach area at Barceloneta, you can enjoy a pleasant walk to the stadium. Start by heading northwest along the beachfront promenade until you reach the famous La Rambla. Continue walking up La Rambla until you reach Plaça Catalunya. From there, follow the previous metro or bus instructions, or if you choose to continue walking, head towards Montjuïc. It will take approximately 40-50 minutes, but you will enjoy beautiful views of the city along the way.
