Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Cabo de Gata. Head south on Calle del Mar towards the N-340 road. Merge onto the N-340 and continue for approximately 6 kilometers. Look for signs indicating 'Las Salinas de Cabo de Gata'. After you pass the village of Las Negras, keep an eye out for the entrance to the salt flats, which will be on your right. There is usually ample parking available near the entrance.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take the bus from the Cabo de Gata bus stop. The 'Almería - Cabo de Gata' bus service is operated by ALSA. Check the bus schedule in advance, as service may be limited on weekends. Purchase a ticket from the bus driver or at the bus station. Once you arrive at the closest stop to Las Salinas de Cabo de Gata, disembark and walk approximately 1 kilometer to the entrance of the salt flats. Follow the path leading into the preserve, and you will soon arrive at the scenic viewpoint.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in Cabo de Gata. From the village center, take the coastal road towards Las Negras. This scenic route is about 8 kilometers long and offers stunning views of the Mediterranean. Follow the signs to Las Salinas de Cabo de Gata. The roads are generally safe for cyclists, but be cautious of traffic and be sure to wear a helmet. Upon arrival, there are designated areas where you can lock your bike.
