Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Monistrol de Montserrat. From the Catalonia Pyrenees, take the C-16 road, then follow the signs for Montserrat and the C-55. Drive along the C-55 until you reach the address: C-55, 15, 08691 Monistrol de Montserrat. There is parking available near the Funicular Aeri de Montserrat, but be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around €5 for the day.

• Train

  For those using public transportation, take a train from Barcelona to Monistrol de Montserrat. You can catch a train from Barcelona Sants or Plaça Espanya stations on the FGC line (R5). The journey takes about an hour. Once you arrive at Monistrol de Montserrat station, follow the signs to the Funicular Aeri de Montserrat, which is about a 10-minute walk from the train station. Note that the train tickets cost approximately €10-€15 one way.

• Bus

  Another option is to take a bus from Barcelona to Montserrat. The bus departs from the Plaça Espanya area. The bus service may take around 1.5 hours to reach Monistrol de Montserrat. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the Funicular Aeri de Montserrat. Bus tickets usually cost around €10-€12 one way.

• Funicular

  Upon reaching Monistrol de Montserrat, you will board the Funicular Aeri de Montserrat. The funicular operates daily from 9:30 AM to 7:00 PM. The ticket price for a round trip is approximately €12. This cable car will take you up to the Montserrat mountain area, offering stunning views along the way.
