Car
If you're traveling by car, start your journey on the A-7 motorway (Autovía del Mediterráneo) heading towards Algeciras. Depending on your starting point in Costa del Sol, you'll need to navigate towards the nearest access point to the A-7. Once you're on the A-7, take the exit 214 towards Mijas. Continue on the MA-316 road, following the signs for Mijas. After approximately 10 minutes, you'll arrive in the town of Mijas. Be prepared for some winding roads as you enter the scenic village.
Public Transportation - Bus
To reach Mijas by public transportation, find a local bus service that operates from your current location. The most common route is from Fuengirola, where you can catch the M-119 bus directly to Mijas. The bus departs from the Fuengirola Bus Station, located near the beach. The journey takes about 30 minutes, and tickets cost approximately €1.55. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as times may vary. Once you arrive at the Mijas bus stop, you can easily walk into the town center.
Public Transportation - Train and Bus
If you are coming from Málaga city center, take the C-1 commuter train from Málaga Centro to Fuengirola. The train ride takes about 35 minutes and costs around €2.60. Once in Fuengirola, exit the train station and head to the Fuengirola Bus Station, where you can board the M-119 bus to Mijas. This combination of train and bus is a popular option and allows you to enjoy the scenic views along the coast.
