Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by heading towards the N-120 road from your location in La Rioja. Follow signs for 'San Millán de la Cogolla' as you drive. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Once you reach the town of San Millán de la Cogolla, follow the signs directing you to Suso Monastery. The monastery is located about 2 km from the town center. There's a small parking area near the entrance. Please note that some narrow roads may require cautious driving.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Suso Monastery using public transport, first take a bus from Logroño or another major town in La Rioja to San Millán de la Cogolla. The bus service may not be frequent, so check the schedule in advance. Once you arrive in San Millán de la Cogolla, you will need to walk approximately 2 km to reach the monastery. There are signs along the way, and the path is relatively easy to follow. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the walk may include some inclines.

• Walking from San Millán de la Cogolla

  If you are already in San Millán de la Cogolla, you can easily walk to Suso Monastery. From the main square, head south on Calle Mayor, and follow the signs to the monastery. The walk will take about 30-40 minutes and is quite scenic. Make sure to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. The path is well-marked, but be prepared for some uphill sections.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct option, you can take a taxi from San Millán de la Cogolla to Suso Monastery. This is a great choice if you're traveling with a group or have luggage. Taxis are generally available in the town, and the fare should be reasonable, typically around €10-15 for the short trip. Be sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
