If you're traveling by car, the best route to Ibón de Piedrafita is to start from the town of Jaca. From Jaca, take the N-330 road heading east until you reach the junction for A-2605 towards the village of Piedrafita de Jaca. Follow A-2605 for approximately 15 kilometers. After passing through the village, continue towards the parking area for Ibón de Piedrafita. Note that the last section involves a steep drive, and parking may require a fee, typically around €5. Make sure to arrive early during peak seasons to secure a spot.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Jaca to Piedrafita de Jaca. Buses operate regularly, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Piedrafita de Jaca, you will need to walk to the Ibón de Piedrafita trailhead. The walk is approximately 6 kilometers and will take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and carry water, as the trail can be steep and rugged.
Hiking
If you're already in the vicinity and looking for a more adventurous route, consider hiking from the nearest parking area. From the parking lot, follow the marked hiking trails leading up to Ibón de Piedrafita.
