Car
If you are driving from Granada, take the A-44 highway towards Sierra Nevada. Follow the signs for 'Sierra Nevada' and continue on the A-395 road. Once you reach the ski resort area, look for signs directing you to the Observatorio de Sierra Nevada. The observatory is located on the mountain, approximately 27 kilometers from Granada. Park your car in the designated parking area near the observatory.
Public Transportation
To reach the Observatorio de Sierra Nevada via public transport, take a bus from Granada to the Sierra Nevada ski resort. Buses depart from the Granada bus station and the fare is approximately €5-€10 each way. Once you arrive at the ski resort, you will need to take a taxi or a local shuttle service to the observatory, as it is located further up the mountain. Expect to pay around €15-€20 for the taxi ride.
Hiking/Walking
For those feeling adventurous and in good physical condition, you can hike from the ski resort area to the Observatorio de Sierra Nevada. The hiking trail is well-marked, but be sure to check local conditions and dress appropriately for the mountain weather. This option is best suited for experienced hikers and will take approximately 1-2 hours depending on your pace.
