City of Four Cultures: A Self-Guided Audio Tour in Zaragoza
A fun and surprising walk through a beautiful city.
I took a punt on Zaragoza because I wanted to go somewhere a bit different. I knew nothing of the city before I got there. Thank goodness I found this tour because I couldn't find any others offering an English-speaking service. It was such fun, it directs you from the riverfront to the old town (restaurant district), the Cathedral to the Aljaferia Castle. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but when you're just browsing the city, it's exactly the right tone. That's not to say that it's not full of really interesting information; it literally goes back to Roman times, the Moors, the Visigoths, and the Christians (City of Four Cultures). I left town feeling like I had a much better understanding of Zaragoza... so if you're on the fence about visiting, take a chance, it's a really beautiful place with an unexpected rich history - and this walking tour really was fun and interesting.
