If you are driving from Arugam Bay, head east on the A4 road. Follow the signs towards Pottuvil and continue for approximately 5 kilometers. You will see a sign for ULLA STATE FOREST on your right. Turn into the road and continue until you reach the entrance of the forest. Parking may be available near the entrance, but make sure to check for any parking fees.
Public Transportation
From Arugam Bay, you can catch a local bus heading towards Pottuvil. Make sure to board a bus that is marked for Pottuvil and is going via the A4 road. The bus ride takes about 15-20 minutes. Inform the bus driver that you wish to get off at the ULLA STATE FOREST stop. After getting off, you may need to walk approximately 500 meters to reach the entrance of the forest. Always keep some small change for the bus fare, which is typically around 50 LKR.
Tuk-Tuk
For a more flexible option, hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Arugam Bay. Negotiate the fare beforehand; it should cost you around 500-800 LKR for a one-way trip to ULLA STATE FOREST. The ride will take about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Ensure that the driver understands your destination by showing them a map or the name of the location.
