Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Kandy, which is about 40 km away. Head southeast on the A1 road towards Nuwara Eliya. After approximately 20 km, take the exit towards Pundaluoya. Continue on the B1 road for about 10 km until you reach Pundaluoya. From Pundaluoya, take the road leading to the Dunsinane Falls, which is located at the coordinates 7.0061224, 80.6881461. You will need to drive carefully as the roads can be narrow and winding. Parking is available near the waterfall area.
Public Transportation
To reach Dunsinane Falls using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. Buses run frequently and the fare is around 150 LKR. Once you arrive in Nuwara Eliya, transfer to a local bus heading to Pundaluoya. The fare for this leg is approximately 50 LKR. After reaching Pundaluoya, you may need to hire a tuk-tuk to take you to Dunsinane Falls, which should cost around 300-500 LKR depending on negotiation. Ensure you confirm the tuk-tuk fare before starting your journey.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct and comfortable option, consider hiring a taxi from Kandy to Dunsinane Falls. The taxi ride will take approximately 1.5 hours and may cost between 3000 to 4000 LKR depending on the service. Ensure to arrange for the driver to wait for you while you explore the falls or discuss a return time.
