    Getting There

    Bus

    From the city center, head to the nearest bus station and look for a bus that goes to Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia. Buses that are headed towards Ratmalana or Mount Lavinia will pass through Dehiwala. The bus fare is inexpensive, around 30 LKR. Make sure to ask the conductor if the bus stops at your destination. Once you reach the Dehiwala bus stop, get off and walk about 10 minutes towards the coast where you will find the beautiful beaches of Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia.

    Train

    If you're near the Fort Railway Station, take a train heading towards Galle or Matara. Disembark at the Dehiwala train station. From the station, exit and turn left, then walk straight for about 15 minutes. You'll need to cross the main road, and once you reach the traffic lights, you can see the ocean ahead. Follow the road down to the beach area of Mount Lavinia.

    Tuk-Tuk

    For a more convenient option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from anywhere in Colombo. Simply tell the driver 'Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia' as your destination. The fare should be between 300-500 LKR depending on your starting point. The tuk-tuk will take you directly to the area, and you can enjoy the scenic ride along the coastal road.
