Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Galle Fort, head south towards the Lighthouse. Once you reach the Lighthouse, continue straight onto the Galle-Matara Main Road (A2). Walk along the road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Unawatuna. Turn left onto the road leading towards Unawatuna Beach. Follow the signs towards Jungle Beach. After approximately 1 kilometer, you will see a sign for Jungle Beach on your left. Follow the path leading down to the beach.

  • Tuk-tuk

    Find a tuk-tuk at any designated tuk-tuk stand around Galle, such as the one near the Galle Fort. Tell the driver you want to go to Jungle Beach. The journey will take about 15 minutes. The driver will take you to the entrance of Unawatuna Beach, and then you can walk down the path to reach Jungle Beach.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Galle, preferably near the Galle Fort. From there, cycle south on the Galle-Matara Main Road (A2) for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach the entrance to Unawatuna. Turn left onto the road leading to Unawatuna Beach and continue for about 1 kilometer. Look for the sign for Jungle Beach on your left and follow the path down to the beach.
