To reach Udawalawe National Park from Horton Plains National Park by car, start by heading southeast on the A7 road from Horton Plains. Continue on A7 for approximately 25 km until you reach the town of Wellawaya. Here, you will turn right onto the A4 road. Follow the A4 road for about 20 km until you reach the entrance of Udawalawe National Park. The drive will take around 1 hour depending on traffic conditions.

To travel to Udawalawe National Park using public transportation, first make your way to the nearest bus stop at Horton Plains. From there, take a bus to Wellawaya (buses run frequently, check local schedules). The journey to Wellawaya will take approximately 1 hour.
