If you're traveling by car, start from Mannar town and head towards the B403 road. Follow the B403 for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the Vankalai Bird Sanctuary. Keep an eye out for signage indicating the sanctuary. Parking is typically available near the entrance.
Public Transportation
To reach Vankalai Bird Sanctuary using public transport, take a local bus from Mannar town heading towards the B403 route. Make sure to inform the bus conductor of your destination; they will drop you off at the closest stop to the sanctuary. The journey should take around 30-45 minutes. From the bus stop, it is a short 1-2 kilometer walk to the entrance of the sanctuary.
