If you are traveling by car, start from the main town of Moneragala. Head south on the A4 highway towards Badulla. After approximately 12 km, look for the signpost indicating Kalthota. Turn onto the road leading to Kalthota. Continue for about 8 km until you reach the vicinity of the Kuragala Ancient Buddhist Monastery. There is a parking area near the entrance of the monastery.

Once you arrive in Kalthota, you can hire a tuk-tuk or walk to the monastery, which is about 2 km away from the bus stop. The tuk-tuk ride will cost approximately LKR 200-300.
