From the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, head east on the A1 road towards Kandy. Continue for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the junction at Polgahawela. Turn right onto the A6 road towards Polgahawela. After about 6 kilometers, look for signs pointing to Waduwawa Yatigal-oluwa. Follow these signs until you arrive at the Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery. Parking is available at the monastery.

From the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, walk to the nearest bus stop and take a bus heading towards Kandy. Get off at the Polgahawela bus station (approximately a 30-minute ride).
