Walking
If you are starting from the Polonnaruwa Archaeological Museum, head south on New Town Road (also known as Hospital Road) for about 1 kilometer. Once you reach the junction, take a right onto the ancient city road (the road may not have a specific name, but it's well-trodden). Continue walking for about 500 meters until you see a signpost for Vatadage on your left. Follow the path indicated by the sign, which leads you directly to the Vatadage.

Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Polonnaruwa. Start from the Polonnaruwa bus station and ride south on New Town Road (Hospital Road) for about 1 kilometer. At the junction, turn right onto the ancient city road. Continue cycling for approximately 500 meters. Look for the Vatadage sign on your left and follow the path leading to the site.
