Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start your journey from Ratnapura town center. Head southwest on Main Street, then turn onto Ratnapura-Wewelwatte Rd (A4). Continue on this road for approximately 5 kilometers. You will see signs for Dehena Waterfall along the way. Once you reach the waterfall entrance, there is parking available nearby, but make sure to arrive early as the parking fills up quickly, especially on weekends.

Public Transportation (Bus)

To reach Dehena Waterfall via public transportation, you can take a bus from Ratnapura town to Wewelwatte. Board any bus that is heading towards Wewelwatte from the main bus station in Ratnapura. The fare is around LKR 30-50. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Dehena Waterfall. Once you arrive at the stop, you may have to walk approximately 1 kilometer to the waterfall entrance. The path is relatively straightforward, but be prepared for some uneven terrain.

Tuk-Tuk

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a tuk-tuk from Ratnapura town. This option is convenient and can be arranged easily by asking locals or at your hotel. The fare should be around LKR 500-700 for a one-way trip. The tuk-tuk will take you directly to Dehena Waterfall. Make sure to negotiate the price beforehand and confirm if they will wait for you while you explore the area.
