Getting there

Walking

From the Sigiriya Rock Fortress entrance, head directly south towards the main road. Once you reach the main road, turn left and walk along the path for about 1 kilometer. Keep an eye out for signs directing you towards Preaching Rock. You will pass a few local shops and homestays along the way. After approximately 15-20 minutes of walking, you will see Preaching Rock on your right side. The rock is located near the coordinates XQ55+7CG. Make sure to take some time to enjoy the views and the historical significance of this site.

Bicycle

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Sigiriya. Start from the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and bike south towards the main road. After reaching the main road, turn left and continue cycling for about 1 kilometer. Look for signs that indicate Preaching Rock. The journey will take around 10-15 minutes depending on your cycling speed. Once you arrive, secure your bicycle at a nearby location and explore the area.

Tuk-tuk
