Getting There

  • Walking

    From the city center of Trincomalee, head towards the Main Street (Church Road). Walk along Church Road until you reach the clock tower. From there, take a left onto Fort Frederick Road. Continue walking straight until you reach the junction at the end of Fort Frederick Road. Here, take a right onto Koneswaram Road. Follow Koneswaram Road for about 2 km until you see signs pointing towards Rawana Abyss. The location will be on your left, identifiable by its unique geological formation.

  • Tuk-Tuk

    You can hire a tuk-tuk from any point in Trincomalee. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Rawana Abyss. A common pick-up point is near the Trincomalee bus station. The journey will take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. The driver will take you via Fort Frederick Road and Koneswaram Road. Be sure to have the location's name ready in case the driver is unfamiliar with it.
