Olarsgården traces its roots to 1949, when the first building rose in Sälen's Lindvallen area as a genuine Swedish "gård"—a homestead welcoming weary travelers. Expanded over decades yet preserving its original main entrance with a vintage door and small patio, this family business evokes the warmth of a skier's inn. Current owner Jonas Persson, a Sälen native involved in the ski scene since 1989, returned in 2017 to uphold its traditions amid the resort's evolution.

The lobby bar serves as the pulsing core of Olarsgården, a natural hub for après-ski gatherings, pre-dinner chats, or late-night unwinding. Surrounding it are dining halls of varying sizes, fostering an intimate, personal atmosphere without excess. Wood accents and soft lighting enhance the rustic appeal, drawing guests back repeatedly as their communal living room during stays.

Across 21 rooms, from compact doubles to spacious family suites, Olarsgården marries vintage aesthetics with contemporary standards. Each space boasts unique character—think comfortable beds, flat-screen TVs, free WiFi, and en-suite showers—designed for rest after slope adventures. Nothing extravagant, but reliably cozy, with heating ensuring warmth against mountain chills.

Elgen Restaurang's Local Harvest

At Elgen Restaurang, menus celebrate Sälen's bounty with Scandinavian dishes using regional ingredients. Expect hearty buffets like the traditional Swedish Christmas table, laden with herrings, salmon varieties, meats, and desserts. Daily breakfast features classics including American pancakes, fueling early risers for 9am lift openings. Special diets accommodated on request, paired with the bar's inviting selections.

Wellness and Slope Proximity

Free sauna access beckons for post-ski recovery, complemented by a garden terrace and ski storage. Positioned 150 meters from Lindvallen Ski Center and a short walk from Sälfjällstorget's shops and eateries, Olarsgården enables seamless ski-in/ski-out living.
