Walking
Start your journey at the Västerås Central Station. Exit the station and head south on Vasagatan towards the city center. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Stora Gatan. Turn right on Stora Gatan and walk until you reach the Vasa Park. From Vasa Park, continue walking south towards the waterfront. Follow the waterfront promenade, enjoying the view of Lake Mälaren. After approximately 20 minutes of walking, you will reach the Asköviken area. Look for signs directing you towards Tornudden, which is a bird watching area located at Unnamed Road, 725 91 Västerås.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Västerås, ideally located near the Västerås Central Station. Once you have your bike, head south on Vasagatan and then take a left onto Kungsängsgatan. Continue straight until you reach the waterfront. Follow the bike path along the waterfront, which will lead you towards Asköviken. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on your pace. Look for bike path signs leading to Tornudden, which is a popular area for bird watching.
Public Transport
From the Västerås Central Station, take Bus 3 towards Viksäng. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the 'Viksgatan' stop. From there, walk south along Viksgatan until you reach the waterfront. Once you reach the waterfront promenade, follow it to the east for about 10 minutes until you arrive at Asköviken. Keep an eye out for signs that indicate the direction of Tornudden, a notable bird watching area.
