From Appenzell, head northeast on Hauptstraße (main road) towards Wasserauen. Follow the signs to Wasserauen, where you will find parking options. The drive takes approximately 15 minutes. Once you arrive at Wasserauen, park your car in the designated parking area.

After parking in Wasserauen, locate the Ebenalp cable car station, which is a short walk from the parking area. Purchase a ticket for the cable car ride to Ebenalp. The round-trip ticket costs around CHF 28 for adults and CHF 14 for children. The cable car ride will take approximately 10 minutes, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Once you arrive at the Ebenalp station, follow the marked hiking trails leading to Berggasthaus Ebenalp, which is approximately a 30-minute hike. The path is well-maintained and suitable for most fitness levels. Enjoy the scenic views and the fresh mountain air as you make your way to the gasthaus.
