    From Ascona, walk to the bus stop called 'Ascona, Ponte'. Take the bus number 2 (direction 'Lugano, Stazione') and ride for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at 'Lugano, Stazione'. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the funicular station located near the train station. Purchase a ticket for the funicular to Monte San Salvatore, which will take you up the mountain.

    Head to the Ascona ferry terminal located along the lakefront. Board a ferry heading towards 'Lugano'. Enjoy a scenic ride across Lake Maggiore which takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Lugano ferry terminal, follow the path to the funicular station nearby. Purchase your ticket for the funicular to Monte San Salvatore to reach the top.

  • Walking and Funicular

    If you prefer to walk, start from the main square in Ascona and head towards the lakefront promenade. Continue along the promenade until you reach the Lugano ferry terminal. From there, take a ferry to Lugano. After disembarking at Lugano, walk to the funicular station located a short distance from the ferry terminal and take the funicular to Monte San Salvatore.
