If you are starting from the main train station (Bern Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head towards the city center. Walk straight along Bahnhofplatz for about 800 meters until you reach the Wabernweg intersection. Turn right onto Wabernweg and follow it until you reach the Uferweg.
