    If you are starting from Bern's main train station (Bern Hauptbahnhof), exit the station and head south towards the city center. As you exit, you will see the Wabernstrasse street leading directly to the Bundesplatz. Walk straight down the Bahnhofplatz and continue onto the Kramgasse. Follow the Kramgasse until you reach the end, where it meets the Bundesplatz. You will see the Federal Palace (Bundeshaus) on your right. The Bundesplatz is directly in front of the Federal Palace.

  • Public Transport - Tram

    To get to Bundesplatz using public transport, find your nearest tram stop. If you are near the Bern Hauptbahnhof, take tram line 9 or 11 from the station towards Gümmenen or Ostermundigen. Get off at the 'Bundesplatz' stop. Upon exiting the tram, you will be directly in front of the Bundesplatz. Enjoy the view of the Federal Palace and the surrounding gardens.

  • Walking from Zytglogge

    If you are starting from the Zytglogge (Clock Tower), walk down Kramgasse towards the Bundesplatz. After about a 10-minute walk, Kramgasse will lead you straight into the Bundesplatz area. You will see the Federal Palace appear as you approach, and the square will be just ahead of you.

    If you are at the Rosengarten (Rose Garden), which offers a beautiful view of the city, walk down the hill towards the city center. Follow the path leading down to the Bundesplatz. It will take you about 15 minutes to walk downhill. Once you reach the Bundesplatz, you’ll be greeted with stunning views of the Federal Palace and the surrounding area.
