Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, navigate to Lucerne via the A2 motorway. Once you reach Lucerne, follow the signs to the city center. As you approach the city, take the exit for 'Luzern Zentrum'. Continue on the road until you see signs for 'Denkmalstrasse'. The Lion Monument is located at Denkmalstrasse 4, 6002 Luzern. There are parking options available nearby, but be prepared for parking fees which can vary.

• Train

  If you prefer public transportation, take a train to Lucerne from any major city in Switzerland, such as Zurich or Bern. The train ride to Lucerne is scenic and typically takes about an hour from Zurich. Once you arrive at Lucerne train station, exit the station and head towards the bus terminal. You can either walk (about 15 minutes) or take bus line 1 or 24 towards 'Denkmalstrasse'. Disembark at the 'Denkmalstrasse' stop, and the Lion Monument will be a short walk from there.

• Bus

  For those already in Lucerne, you can take local buses to reach the Lion Monument. From the central bus station, take bus line 1 or 24 heading towards 'Denkmalstrasse'. The bus ride is short, taking approximately 5-10 minutes. After disembarking at the 'Denkmalstrasse' stop, follow the signs towards the monument. Keep in mind that local bus fares apply, which usually cost around CHF 2.50–5.00.

• Walking

  If you are staying in the Lucerne city center, the Lion Monument is easily accessible on foot. From the Chapel Bridge, walk east along the lake towards Löwendenkmal (Lion Monument). The walk takes about 15-20 minutes. Follow the lakeside promenade until you reach the monument at Denkmalstrasse 4.
