Car
If you're driving from St. Gallen, take the A1 motorway towards Zurich. After about 20 kilometers, take the exit towards Wil/SG and merge onto the A1/A4. Continue on A4 for approximately 30 kilometers, then take exit 91 towards Wildhaus. Follow the signs for Wildhaus (Burg 521), which will lead you directly to the historical landmark of Wildenburg. The total drive should take around one hour depending on traffic.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, start your journey at St. Gallen railway station. Take the train to the station 'Wildhaus', which is serviced by regional trains. The journey takes about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Wildhaus station, you can either walk or take a local bus to Burg 521. The walk will take approximately 20 minutes. If you prefer the bus, check the local schedule as it may not run frequently. Be sure to have some Swiss Francs handy for the bus fare, which typically costs around CHF 2-5.
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a more direct route without driving yourself, consider taking a taxi or a rideshare service from nearby towns such as St. Gallen or Wil. This option provides convenience but can be more expensive, with fares potentially ranging from CHF 50-100 depending on the distance and time of day.
