Car
If you are driving, head towards Grindelwald from your current location in Emmental. Follow the A6 highway towards Interlaken. Take the exit towards Grindelwald (exit 30) and continue on the main road into the village. Once you reach Grindelwald, follow the signs for the First gondola. Park at the First cable car station (there is ample parking available). From the cable car station, take the Firstbahn cable car up to First. From there, you will find marked hiking paths leading to Bachalpsee. The hike is approximately 1 hour and is well-signposted.
Public Transportation
To reach Bachalpsee using public transportation, take a train from your nearest station to Grindelwald. You may need to transfer trains at Interlaken Ost, depending on your starting location. Once you arrive at Grindelwald station, exit the station and take bus number 121 towards Grindelwald First. This bus will take you to the First cable car station. Take the Firstbahn cable car to the top at First. From there, follow the well-marked hiking trail to Bachalpsee, which takes about 1 hour.
