Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the city of Köniz. From Emmental, take the A6 motorway towards Bern and exit at the Köniz junction. Follow the signs for Gurten. Continue on Gurtenbahnweg until you reach the parking area near the base of the Gurten funicular railway. Please note that parking might incur a fee.
Public Transportation (Train and Funicular)
Start by taking a train from Emmental to Bern. From Bern, transfer to tram line 9 towards 'Gurtenbahn'. Disembark at the 'Gurtenbahn' stop. From there, you will find the funicular that takes you up to the Gurten observation tower. The funicular ride incurs a small fee, which is approximately CHF 10 for a round trip.
Walking
If you prefer to walk to the Gurten observation tower, you can hike from the base of the Gurten funicular. The trail is well-marked and takes approximately 30-40 minutes to reach the top. Enjoy the scenic route as you ascend through beautiful meadows and woods.
