Car
If you are driving, head towards Thusis in Graubünden. You can use the A13 motorway, which is well-signposted. Take the exit for Thusis and follow the signs for Viamala. The actual address is 7430 Thusis. There is a parking area available near the entrance of the Viamala Gorge, where you can park your car. Please be aware that parking fees may apply.
Public Transportation
To reach Viamala via public transport, start by taking a train to Thusis. The Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) operates regular services from major cities like Chur or St. Moritz to Thusis. Once you arrive at Thusis train station, exit the station and look for the bus stop. Take the local bus heading to the Viamala Gorge. Check the local bus schedule for the latest timings as the frequency may vary. The bus will drop you off close to the entrance of the gorge.
Walking from Thusis
If you prefer to walk, you can start your journey from Thusis train station. It is approximately a 30-minute walk to Viamala Gorge. Head southwest on Hauptstrasse towards Viamala. Follow the signs, and you will find a pathway leading directly to the gorge entrance. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the terrain can be uneven.
