From Interlaken Ost train station, take the train towards Grindelwald. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Grindelwald station, exit the train and head towards the main street (Dorfstraße) in front of you. Follow the signs for the bus station, where you will find buses to the First cable car station.

At Grindelwald station, take the bus number 1 towards First. Buses run frequently, approximately every 30 minutes. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes. Get off at the First station. From the First station, there is a well-marked walking trail leading to Bachalpsee, which takes around 1 hour and is suitable for most fitness levels.

Once you arrive at the First cable car station, follow the signposts for Bachalpsee. The trail is well-maintained and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. It is a leisurely hike, but make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. The total hiking distance is approximately 3.5 km each way.
