Travel Guide to Monumento a Giuseppe Cattori

Getting There

• Walking

  Start from the main train station in Locarno (Locarno Bahnhof). Exit the station and head towards the lakeside promenade, which is about a 5-minute walk. Once you reach the promenade, turn right and continue walking along the waterfront. After approximately 15 minutes, you will reach a bridge. Cross the bridge over the river and then continue straight onto Via delle Scuole. Follow this road for about 10 minutes until you reach the intersection with Via Tesserete. Turn left onto Via Tesserete and continue for another 5 minutes until you see the Monumento a Giuseppe Cattori on your right.

• Bus

  From Locarno train station, take bus line 1 in the direction of Muralto. The bus stop is located right outside the train station. Ride the bus for about 5 minutes and get off at the 'Muralto, Piazza' stop. From there, it’s a short walk. Head southeast on Via delle Scuole, then turn left onto Via Tesserete. After about a 5-minute walk, you will see Monumento a Giuseppe Cattori on your right.

• Walking

  If you are staying in the city center of Locarno, start at the Piazza Grande. Head towards the lakefront and follow the promenade towards Muralto. After approximately 20 minutes of walking along the lake, you will reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and turn left onto Via delle Scuole. Continue straight for about 10 minutes, then turn left onto Via Tesserete. The monument will be on your right after a short walk.
