Walking
If you are in the center of Locarno, start at the Piazza Grande, which is a popular central square. From there, head towards the east side of the square, and take the narrow street named Via Cattori. Walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach the end of the street. You will encounter a T-junction. Turn left onto Via San Francesco. Continue walking straight for about 3 minutes, and you'll reach Piazza Sant'Antonio. The Museo Casa Rusca is located at Piazza Sant'Antonio 1, on your right.
Public Transport (Bus)
If you are further away from the center, you can take a local bus. Find the closest bus stop and look for bus lines heading towards Locarno Centro. Once you board the bus, request to get off at the stop named 'Piazza Grande'. From there, follow the previous walking directions: head towards Via Cattori and continue to Piazza Sant'Antonio. The journey will take approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on the bus schedule.
Funicular
For a scenic route, you can take the funicular railway from Locarno to the nearby area of Orselina. Once you arrive at the Orselina station, exit and walk back to Locarno via the same path you came. This is a longer route, but you will enjoy beautiful views of Lake Maggiore. Upon returning to Locarno, head towards Piazza Grande and follow the walking directions to Museo Casa Rusca from there.
