Getting there

Public Transport

Start at the Lugano train station (Stazione di Lugano). From the station, take the bus line 3 towards 'Carona'. The bus stop is located right outside the train station. Make sure to check the schedule ahead of time as buses might not run frequently. After approximately 20 minutes, alight at 'Carona, Paese' stop. From there, follow the signs for 'Sasso della Predescia'. The trailhead is located near the bus stop. The hike will take about 30-45 minutes depending on your pace.

Walking

If you prefer to walk, you can start from the city center of Lugano. Head towards the lakefront and walk along the Promenade until you reach the funicular station at 'Lugano, Funicolare'. Take the funicular up to 'Monte Brè'. Once at the top, follow the marked hiking trails leading to 'Sasso della Predescia'. This route offers breathtaking views and should take around 1.5 to 2 hours of walking.

Combination of Public Transport and Hiking

From the city center, take bus line 1 towards 'Tesserete'. Get off at 'Tesserete, Paese'. From there, you can follow the hiking path that leads directly to 'Sasso della Predescia'. This combination gives you a scenic route through the hills and should take around 1 hour of hiking time after the bus ride.
