From Lugano city center, head to the main bus station (Lugano Stazione). Look for the bus line that goes to Magreglio. You can take bus line 1 towards 'Brusino Arsizio' and get off at the 'Magreglio' stop. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to the Madonna del Ghisallo. Head northeast on Via Adua and follow the signs to the shrine.

Make your way to Lugano Train Station. Take a train towards Lecco. Upon arrival at Lecco, transfer to the local bus service that goes to Magreglio. Once you arrive at the Magreglio stop, follow Via Adua for approximately 1.2 kilometers until you reach the Madonna del Ghisallo.

If you are feeling adventurous and want to walk from the city center of Lugano to Madonna del Ghisallo, start by heading north towards the lakeside promenade. Follow the signs towards the Funicolare (cable car) to Monte Brè. While this is a longer route, it provides beautiful views. You can take the Funicolare to the top and then continue walking towards Magreglio. It will take approximately 2-3 hours, so be prepared with proper footwear and water.
