Walking
From the center of Saas-Fee, head towards the end of the main street (Promenade) in the direction of the Alpin Express cable car station. Continue past the station until you reach the signs for hiking trails. Follow the trail marked towards Gletschersee, which is approximately a 1.5 to 2-hour hike depending on your pace. The trail is well marked and offers stunning views along the way.
Cable Car
You can also take the Alpin Express cable car from Saas-Fee to the Mittelallalin station. This costs around CHF 35 for a round trip (prices may vary). Once you arrive at Mittelallalin, follow the signs for Gletschersee, which is a short hike from the cable car station, taking approximately 30 minutes.
Public Transportation
If you are coming from nearby towns or cities, take a train to Visp. From Visp, take a bus to Saas-Fee. Once in Saas-Fee, follow the walking directions above to reach Gletschersee. The bus fare from Visp to Saas-Fee is approximately CHF 10-15.
