Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, head towards Grindelwald. From Interlaken, take the A8 motorway towards Brienz and then follow the signs to Grindelwald. Once you arrive in Grindelwald, park your car in one of the public parking areas available in the village. The closest parking area to the First Cliff Walk is at the Grindelwald First cable car station, which is clearly marked. Please note that parking may incur a fee.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, take a train from your location to Interlaken Ost. From Interlaken Ost, transfer to a train heading to Grindelwald. Once you arrive in Grindelwald, you can either walk to the Grindelwald First cable car station (approximately 20 minutes) or take a local bus that connects the train station to the cable car station. The bus schedule is aligned with train arrivals. A ticket for the train from Interlaken to Grindelwald typically costs around CHF 10-15.

• Cable Car

  Once you reach the Grindelwald First cable car station, purchase your ticket for the cable car ride to First. The ride takes approximately 25 minutes and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. Tickets can be purchased at the station, and prices vary depending on the season, with a round trip costing around CHF 30-40 for adults. After reaching First, follow the signs to the First Cliff Walk, which is a short walk from the cable car station.

• Walking

  After disembarking from the cable car at First, you will find clear signage directing you to the First Cliff Walk. The path is well-maintained and takes about 10 minutes to walk to the start of the walk. Make sure to wear appropriate footwear and enjoy the breathtaking views along the way.
