Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from your location in Western Switzerland and head towards Bern. Use the A1 motorway for the fastest route. Once you arrive in Bern, follow the signs for Zentrum (city center). Take the exit towards Grosse Schanze and continue straight. You will come across the Kirchenfeldbrücke, which is well signposted. There is limited parking available nearby, so be prepared to park in a designated area and walk to the bridge.

• Train

  For those using public transportation, take a train to Bern main station (Bern HB). Trains from major cities in Western Switzerland like Geneva, Lausanne, and Montreux frequently run to Bern. Upon arrival at Bern HB, exit the station and head towards the tram stop located outside. Take tram line 9 in the direction of 'Grosser Muristalden'. Alight at the 'Kirchenfeld' stop. From there, it’s a short walk to Kirchenfeldbrücke, where you can enjoy scenic views of the city and the Aare River. A single ticket costs around CHF 4.40 for a short trip within Bern.

• Bus

  If you prefer bus travel, you can also take a bus to Bern. Once in Bern, get off at the 'Zytglogge' stop, which is a famous clock tower. From there, you can walk towards the Aare River and follow the riverbank to reach Kirchenfeldbrücke. Look for local signage directing you to the bridge. Keep in mind that the walk from 'Zytglogge' to the bridge takes approximately 15-20 minutes.

• Bicycle

  For those feeling more adventurous, consider renting a bicycle. Bern is a bike-friendly city with many paths. You can rent a bike from a local shop or use the bike-sharing system. Cycle towards the Aare River, following the riverbank path directly to Kirchenfeldbrücke. This option is free if you already have a bike or costs around CHF 10-15 for a rental.
