Getting There

  • Tram

    If you're starting from the Zurich Hauptbahnhof (main train station), head to the tram stop located just outside the main entrance. Take tram line 4 or 15 towards 'Hagenholzstrasse' or 'Bucheggplatz', respectively. Ride for 3 stops and get off at 'Rathaus' tram stop. From there, walk straight on Rathausstrasse until you reach the river, then turn right onto Limmatquai. Continue walking along the river for about 10 minutes until you see Uraniastrasse on your left. The Urania Sternwarte will be at number 9 on that street.

  • Bus

    From Zurich Hauptbahnhof, walk to the 'HB' bus stop near the train station. Take bus line 31 towards 'Zürich, Hardplatz'. Ride for 3 stops and get off at 'Zürich, Central'. From Central, walk towards the river and cross the bridge. After crossing, turn left and follow the riverbank for about 5 minutes. Turn left onto Uraniastrasse and you will find Urania Sternwarte at number 9.

    If you're nearby, you can easily walk to Urania Sternwarte. From the Zurich Hauptbahnhof, head towards the river, and follow the path along the Limmat river. Walking along the river, you’ll soon reach Uraniastrasse. Turn left onto Uraniastrasse, and the observatory will be at number 9. It's a pleasant walk that takes about 15 minutes.

    You can also take a taxi from anywhere in Zurich. Just tell the driver to take you to Uraniastrasse 9, 8001 Zürich. The taxi will drop you off right at the entrance of Urania Sternwarte. This is a convenient option if you're carrying a lot of luggage or prefer a direct route.
